I research, interview, photograph, and write about events, as well as write and submit creative works of fiction for publication in journals and anthology book series.
My journalism works cover architecture, historic site preservation, sustainable historic preservation, architecture, environmentally friendly landscaping and green spacing, art in public places, fine art, and topics in education.
My creative work encompasses fictional and autobiographical short stories, poetry, and children's literature.
Lisa Turano Wojcik has many interests from the arts and sciences, education, to architecture and engineering. Ms. Wojcik graduated the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences. The daughter of a well-known mid-century modernist architect, she has had a long career in the related field of civil engineering. Now, she writes about these varied subjects.
Lisa has published journal articles on architecture, specifically, mid-century modern architectural preservation, online magazine articles on the arts in education, and creative fictional short stories. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Association for Women Journalists, the Florida Writers Association, and a local creative writing group.
Ms. Wojcik taught and coordinated a fine art and multicultural art appreciation program for elementary schools for nine years. She is a resident of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Albuquerque, New Mexico, a wife, mother of three sons, grandmother of two girls, and devoted cat mom.
